A Thought-Provoking Question
I think this is such an interesting question to ponder. A superpower is not just something you are good at, but also something you feel passionate about.
Discovering My Own Superpowers
Compassion
I have thought about this long and hard and I know that although I am good at many things, my superpowers are compassion and communication.I love being a compassionate person, and it serves me as well as the other person. I feel lighter in my heart and that feeds my soul when I get to express that.
Communication
Communication is something I sometimes take for granted because it comes so easily to me.A lot of what I do comes under that blanket:
Speaking
Writing
Blogging
Giving readings
Just plain listening and holding a safe space for people to share
I love to communicate—to a fault! I will keep digging deeper to get to the nugget inside that tells me the truth.Gerard used to have to tell me to “shut ‘er down” when we were lying in bed and I was still talking. Captive audience, you know!
In my defense, I also love it when others communicate with me and share their beliefs or opinions.
What About You?
Time to Reflect
Now, I want you to think about what superpowers you have—and then amp them up.This is a win-win situation:
As you expand your powers, others receive even more from you
As you figure it out, you'll feel good about yourself
Hopefully, you’ll be inspired to keep sharing them
Make It a Game
It can also be fun to notice what powers others have. Then, ask three friends who really know you to comment on what they think your superpowers are.
Do their answers surprise you? Do you agree?
Final Thought: Just Have Fun
We don’t always see ourselves the way others do—but their guesses shouldn’t be too far off.Whatever you discover, remember to have fun with it!
