Sister & Brotherhood

Don't you love it when you see groups of women or men enjoying their own gender? There is something so special about that. When people can put their own differences aside and see them as unique traits that we can share and learn and grow from one another, that can be so attractive to the group. Why is it that some have to see these traits as negative just because one may be different from the group?

No matter if we are in a relationship or not, we still need time to have fun, explore, and share with our friends. There is something different we receive from them. No matter how good your primary relationship may be, you can't expect to have one person fulfill all your needs. It's unrealistic and also a lot to put on one person, although any romantic movie may suggest otherwise. Isn't that the problem in the first place, that when we find “the one” he or she must singlehandedly solve all our problems, keep us happy, and find solutions to anything that may upset us?

Finding time to enjoy your friends, and share moments with them that only another from your own gender might understand are precious moments. We learn to treasure these times. Whether we're shopping with friends, going to a game, a concert, or even just hanging out, the time seems to fly by. We learn to crave that sister or brotherhood. Even if it's only once in a while, we learn that whatever time we have together seems to fly by and we can't wait to see each other again.

Our friends accept us for who we are, imperfections and all. We don't have to always look perfect or hold back our feelings when we're hurting. The true beauty in this is that we share and grow in the end. Even listening to another can be so powerful. We learn that we all have the same needs and fears, and although our dreams may be different, we're all there to support each other along our paths. It's like a holy council that you bring your problems to and in the end we all feel so much better sharing and supporting one another. Make time to connect, get away, or chat with your sacred friends or tribe and know that in the end, you will feel like your cup is now full.💜
