After going through a deep trauma it is wise to seek out therapy. Seeing the right therapist can give you relief, help you sort out your thoughts, have someone listen to you, and give you unbiased feedback. I believe this is only one way to deal with it. We have to deal with the trauma on all different levels; physical, emotional, mental body, and spiritual. It doesn’t just affect us on one level. Although talk therapy is a good way to start, it’s not the only way through. Whenever we have a shock of any kind it affects us on all levels and gets stored in our cells. Just like when we have had something affect us from a past life, it continues to be stored in our DNA and also continues to affect us in the present lifetime.
The Role of Talk Therapy
Talking with a therapist works on the emotional and mental body level. Depending on who your therapist is and whether she works spiritually, it can work on that level as well. Many therapists are now adding many tools to their toolbox. Using EFT or EMDR can really be so effective to cutting your time down for working with them. Once you feel complete with this part of your healing it is wise to seek an energy worker out.
Working with Energy
Someone who works with energy will know where your imbalances are stored in the body. Depending on what chakras they are stored in can deeply affect different parts of your life moving forward. This is why some people keep repeating their past traumas over and over if they are not cleared up. It can feel like the weight of the world is lifted off once the energy work is complete. By dealing with the physical, emotional, spiritual and mental bodies, this can be complete. If you stay just working with talk therapy for 10 years it’s highly unlikely that you will ever get to release it all.
Building Your Healing Team
When you are looking for the right team to work with (because not one person can do it all) make sure you ask the right questions, look into their certifications and most of all trust what you feel. Ask yourself if you feel this is the right person you can open up to? If not, interview practitioners until you find the right match for you. Don’t feel bad if it’s not because you have to feel somewhat connected to heal. It’s important that we have the right team. In the past we tried to go to one person for everything, but just like when something goes wrong in your house a plumber can’t fix the electrical things. Let people own their specialty. I have many people I refer out to that I know personally. Please call me if you need a referral.
Keep Moving Forward
Whatever stage you’re in, keep moving forward and don’t get discouraged. Remember, you are investing in you and your future. 💜
