Are You Really Listening?

Many people tell me they don’t think the universe is answering them. “I ask for guidance, but nothing ever happens,” they say. But what if the problem isn’t the absence of an answer—what if it’s that we aren’t truly listening?

Life moves fast. Most of us are running on autopilot, juggling responsibilities and racing through the day. If the universe did have a megaphone and shouted, “Hey, Brenda, over here!”—we might still miss it. We laugh, but it’s true. The signs are there, every day. The question is: are you present enough to notice them?

Messages in the Mundane

The universe doesn’t always send burning bushes or lightning bolts. More often, it speaks quietly—through a stranger’s words, a line in a book, a song on the radio, or even a billboard in a traffic jam.

I remember a woman asking me whether she should start a business. I told her to ask for a sign. Days later, she was stuck in construction traffic and glanced up at a billboard that read, Just Do It. She didn’t even realize at first that it was her answer. But when she told me, it couldn’t have been clearer. Hello, are you listening?

Signs don’t have to be mystical. They just need to speak to you. That’s how the universe works—it meets you where you are, in the language of your life.

Nature is a Messenger

The natural world is full of symbols and spirit. A feather on your path, a butterfly circling you, a sudden breeze at just the right moment—these are not random. Trees, animals, clouds, even flowers can carry quiet messages if you take the time to notice.

Some people believe the universe is against them. But it’s not. It’s not here to trick or punish you—it’s here to guide you. It’s always in conversation with you. You just have to slow down, open up, and tune in.

Your Interpretation is the Only One That Matters

Your angels and guides know you. They know how your mind works, what will catch your attention, and how to deliver messages in a way only you will understand. That’s why your interpretation matters more than anyone else’s.

When you see a feather, pause and ask: What does this mean to me? Some see it as a sign from a loved one. Others feel it’s a message that angels are near. Like in dreams, the symbolism is personal. Don’t rush to ask others for meaning—own your intuitive power.

If the message feels important, ask for confirmation. I like to ask for three signs, especially when making a big decision.

A Real-Life Example

Once, I was wondering whether it was time to plan a trip to Sedona. I asked my guides for clarity. That week:

  1. I received a flyer in the mail advertising a trip to Sedona.

  2. I found an old vision board in my attic—and right there was a photo of Sedona I had forgotten about.

  3. A friend who owns a shop in Sedona messaged me, asking when I’d be visiting next.

Three signs. All different, but all pointing in the same direction. That was all I needed. Trip booked.

Ask, Notice, Act

Living in partnership with the universe means asking questions and trusting that answers will come. Then comes the most important part: take action.

Ask your guides. Stay open. Observe your surroundings with curiosity and presence. The universe is always speaking. Whether it’s whispering or shouting, it’s up to you to tune in and respond.

You don’t need a crystal ball. You need stillness. You need trust. And most of all, you need to remember:You are never alone. You are always being guided.
