Winter Solstice: The Longest Night
Today is Winter Solstice and the longest night of the year. Ancient cultures honored it as a sacred turning point where darkness gives way to dawn. The Solstice holds a frequency of completion, illumination, recalibration, and quiet remembrance. In the Rose Lineage, the Winter Solstice is seen as a pause between breaths seen as the womb space where the next chapter begins forming in silence becomes visible. On this day, the veil thins in a different way than on Samhain. Instead of connecting backward, we connect forward towards the light. Take this time to rest, have alone time, think about the year ahead, and connect with your light. Solstice will increase your intuition, and your inner sense of truth.
Winter Solstice Ritual
One white candleOne small bowl of waterA journalSomething that represents your heart
Create sacred space. Dim lights. Place your candle at the center of your sacred space.Say aloud. Tonight I honor the darknessAnd welcome back the light.Light the candle while imagining your own inner light returning.Dip your fingers in the water and touch your forehead, heart, and hands while receiving a water blessing. Speak aloud, May my mind, my heart, and my actions be guided by the light.Get your journal and answer these questions:
What am I ready to release as the year closes? What aspect of my soul wants to awaken? What truth about myself is returning?
Closing Blessing
“Hold your symbolic heart object and say,As the Sun returns, so do I.I rise with clarity, purpose, and devotion.I welcome the new cycle of becoming.”
This ritual aligns you with the returning light.
